The Shepherd of Israel (Ezekiel 34:20–31)

In the Bible, the shepherd is a common image of the Messiah. One of the clearest examples of this is Ezekiel 34:20–31, which speaks of a descendant of David who will care selflessly for Israel, like a shepherd does for his sheep.
